More Tearing Apart...

the old house. Even the old siding is gone, except for the back! It looks so different in just a day! Thank you Mother Nature for cooperating just a little more today!

8 tons of ground up asphalt was purchased to fill in around where the porch is going to go. It is the darker matter that fills up to where the foundation meets the rest of the house (It is hard to tell because the ground is wet from the rain). We need about 8 more tons for the front before we can finish forming and pour the porch.

Little wells had to be installed around the vents in the foundation. They are like mini window wells. After they were installed the backfill was able to be complete.

Ryan and Gary went and bought the windows today from Moyes Glass. We bought brand new used windows. I know, how can that be? Well, people have special ordered windows and then ended up not needing them. At that point companies have extra inventory that is brand new, but they cannot sell the windows as new, instead they are used even though they have never been installed and there is nothing wrong with them. It is great for us, especially now that we are redoing the walls because we can make the windows fit anywhere. So we got very high quality windows for a fraction of the actual cost! They even threw in the kitchen window for FREE! What a great buy!
